Ok, yesterday I really wanted my guild tabard so I went up to a random player off the street of Stormwind and said "Excuse me miss but may I please borrow 1g for my guild's tabard?"

My reply was "Normally no but because you asked so nicely of course you can "

So I went and bought my tabard, and was leaving city when I realised I could do that again. So I went up to another player and said "Excuse me sir but may I please borrow 1g for my guild tabard"...

After a few hours I had gotten 40 gold at level 10

This may not be a lot compared to all the other things on this site but for me that's really good going.

Obviously not ALL players will say yes but the majority of them can spare the 1 gold and will be happy to give me it for my tabard! The worst reply I got was "LTP... Go quest or something noob" (LTP=Learn to Play by the way.)

Just thought I'd share with the community that helped me impress my friends in WoW!

P.S. Yes, I am as polite as that normally (Except maybe the constant "Miss" and "Sir".) and yes, I use proper english not things like "Plz, Plx, Thx etc...

Personally i say don't aim for the higher level 70's caus they'll jusy say 'piss off'
so i'd go for 50-57 level players, thats my best bet! But other than that good idea.

I go from level 20-70. This may sound kind of sexist but the females tend to be more co-operative than the male players, and I'm not certain why that is.

Oh well it's useful that it's like that so no complaints from me

And yes, most 70's will tell you to piss off because they probably get people trying to leach money off of them several times a day simply because they have hit the level cap.

I can atest to the 70 thing. I try to avoid the Azeroth Major cities as much as possible, but when I need to use the AH I have no choice. But I find it is not some level 10 out there asking me it is like a 30 range toon and I tell them to farm an instance for the gold. If it was a level 10 I may be more understanding. But if someone would come up to me and ask me for 1g to buy their guild tabard I would reply "why don't you get your guild to buy you one? They can even buy it cheaper."

But of course there are people out there that will help you no matter what. And honestly I have given gold to people before since it is stupid easy to get gold in Outlands.

I once asked an Undead 70 lock, and he said, 'Sorry, I don't give handouts.' Then, A few minutes later, he whispered me, 'Since you were the most polite beggar I've ever met, if you can find me, I'll give you the money.' So I did, and BAM! I got the money I needed.
