[Scam] CoD Orb of Deception Scam

Hello,

This is one of my first scams, infact no - my first scam. I've been messing around thinking and trying out new scams for CoD - the most easiest and gullible scam in my opinon.

Today, I bring you the Orb of Deception Cash on Delivery scam.

Its simple, but effective - heres what you do.

/trade [You]: WTS Orb of Deception (Make sure you link it) 250g!

As you see, this is seriously underpriced. You will get buyers like mad! But don't worry! Because you can sell them ALL an Orb of Deception!

You whisper them this: [You] whispers [Retard]: Okay mate, I need to nip out, sorry, but I'm in Silvermoon (Or Exodar if your Alliance, the 2 most unpopular cities) and I don't think you can get to me in time! How about I CoD you the Orb? Sorry, but my kid is really ill and I need too take him to the doctors!

Obviously, as its so underpriced - they'll say yes.

Next, you go to the AH, and buy either: Nightsky Orb - Thottbot: World of Warcraft Ancestral Orb - Thottbot: World of Warcraft Umbral Crystal - Thottbot: World of Warcraft

There is bound to be atleast 1 or more of the above.

You then set up a mail to the buyer - add the item and change the subject to: RE: Orb of Deception (1)

CoD Ammount: 250g.

With a little message saying:

Hey mate! We spoke earlier, I had to go out so I couldn't trade you the item! Heres the Orb of Deception! You're lucky, so many people was interested but you came too me first! Enjoy, and I hope you enjoy looking like an Alliance! (Or horde).

This gives the buyer a sense of comfort and relaxation, trusts' you more, thus more willing and gullible.


As you see, the 3 orbs actual images looks alot like the Orb of Deception - the type villiage idiot wouldn't notice a thing!

Probably read alot of CoD threads before - but this one takes it to the next level in my opinion.

Purely because everyone wants a Orb of Deception, and eveyone cant' afford one as they're generally so expensive. I'm relaxing the buyer, letting him know he has got it, and that he has got it cheap.

this is super old, older even than all those posts i mentioned.

also, when accpeting a cod, it now says, "are you sure you want to pay [amount] for [item]"

the orbs you listed are not the same picture as orb of deception...
