I am going to try this right now
Hey there, its Popc0rn, and i'm about to tell you how I scammed my WoTLK key for my personal account.
1: Find a victim.
I posted on Markeedragon.com, and said I would trade my 70 mage for a WoTLK key for my son. He accepted and IMed me.
2: Convince them.
After around 20 minutes of pure social engineering, I was able to convince him that after I gave him my acct name/pass, and he gave the key, that I would change the email and give the rest of the info and whatnot.
Again, he accepted.
3: Do the "Trade.
I gave him my account name/password, and he logged in to see that the mage was indeed there. He then gave me his WoTLK key. I entered it on the mage account and changed the password.
4: Tell him the key was invalid.
I was able to convince him that the company that sold him the key scammed him, and that I no longer wished to trade. He accepted, and stopped IMing me.
5: Tell Blizzard you were keylogged.
I called Blizzard, and convinced them that I was keylogged, and that the person behind the keylogger had my key and account name, so if anyone reported the key stolen, to not believe them, and that I legitimately bought my key from Gamestop. They strangely believed me.
This can be used as a method, idea, or simply success story for you folks out there that want WoTLK, but cannot afford it, or simply do not want to buy it. I am confirming that this does indeed work, but may not forever. Please do not overuse this scam, or it may be nerfed. I am already level 72, and have a level 67 Deathknight
