[In-game Scam] Boost Scam

Please note, this isn't a scam in order to get you free boosts - I realise that's kinda how I worded it in the title but I can't think of another way :S

K, onto the scam. All you need for this scam is a character who can solo a low level instance, and a lot of patience.

This scam is very reliant on your social engineering skills. So stop reading here if you scam by demanding that people give you thier account info.

Step 1) Get in a group with a low level friend of yours, make him leader and let him put you in the LFG for a low level instance (Deadmines for example). Wait for the whispers.

Step 2) You will undoubtedly get whispers asking for boosts - this is where the social engineering starts...

Victim: can i haz boost plz?
You: Gee, dunno man. I was going soon...
Victim:
You: Well I could give you a sort of...half boost..if you want?
Victim: Ok, cool. Inv pl0x.
(OR "No ty..kthxbai!")
*Invite him*

Step 3) Now you need to be very social and learn as much about your victim as possible (favourite movies, favourite colour, favourite class - where abouts they live..etc...) Do this while you boost them.

Step 4) Sometime during the conversation ask him if it is his first character, you should be able to guess by the way he acts, things he does etc...but ask him to make sure. Say something like "Nice my first char was a too!".

Step 5) Offer him some tips on playing his class, try and make yourself sound bored and that you are having trouble explaining. This can go two ways depending on the noobishness of your victim.

i) You: Screw it, I could just play your char for you and show you what I mean, lol!
Victim: lol noob *hearthstones*.



ii) You: You know what? I could just show you on your char if you like...
Victim: Huh? How?
You: With blizzards new "Spouse Share System".
Victim: Wtf is taht?!
You: It's a system Blizz uses so that people who are married can share accounts without getting it banned
You: I can get it to work for anyone!
Victim: How?
You: Tell me your email and i will email you with the details.
Victim: [email protected].
You: kk, lemme email you one sec.

Email him some bullshit mail about how this fake system works. Then head off to EvilPage and write him an email like;

Greetings,

This is to confirm that your account may now be safely monitored by Blizzard as your spouse enjoys the world of Azeroth too!

Your safety recall code is GYWU-1HE8-PPW0-WJJ8

Keep this safe at all times as you may need it to verify your account.

Step 6) Now go back to WoW and ask him if he got the mail.

You: Get the mail?
Victim: Yeah, what now?
You: Tell me your account information (just the username and password).
Victim: Why though?
You: So I can show you what I meant about
Victim: How do I know you wont scam me?
You: If I scam you use the code you got in an email back to blizzard and the last IP to use that account will be perma banned!
Victim: Hmmm...ok...
Victim: Usernameftw Passwordftw
You: Ok, just to give you extra security let me give you my account details..
*wait 5 or 10 mins while you open another wow and check his info is legit and DC him :P*

Step 7) Now you got some lowbies account, although I once got a lvl 59 (woop :P) using this - guess I was lucky.

The main reason I posted this is because I've used it successfully 3 times now and my friend has used it once, and it worked. Also, it is a slightly new scam, as far as im aware - I did a search and didn't get anything like this :P

Not ALL of it, but if you take the time to learn more about them you can be the OO as far as blizz knows, for example, I have an account with a lvl 60 warrior and a load of alts. I have access to his e-mail I know where he lives, I know his second name and I have a photo of him - I also know the answer to his SQ/A AND i got him to fax me a picture of his passport so I could "Verify that he wasn't making up a person as he went along" HAHA.

So, as you can see - social engineering can get you a LONG LONG way, I believe there was a guide written on it on the site, cant seem to find a link atm though, sorry

Hehe im guessing you are on US servers or a non-english server. We call it boost >< Im not sure why :S
