Tanaxia Scams: HowTo - Setup WoTLK Beta-Opt Phisher
So I guess everyone's seen my phisher for the WoTLK Beta. To help people understand how to get it working, I will guide you through 2 parts of getting it working.
1. How to upload the website
2. How to configure and manage your website in an efficient way that takes advantage of all the built-in functions that I've coded into the phisher.
So let's start!
Part 1: Get phisher and upload to website
Index of content:
- Download phisher to your computer
- Setup your free webhotel
- Upload the content of the phisher to your webhotel
Download phisher to your computer
So the first thing we need to do, obviously, is to download my phisher.
You can find it here: http://www.mmowned.com/forums/wow-sc...a-phisher.html
Read through that thread, it also gives you tips of how to manage your phisher, but I will also go through it here for you.
Scroll down to the bottom of the post, and click the download link. Also make it a habit to check the thread from time to time whenever there's been new posts.
If the phisher has been updated, you have to download the updated one in order to recieve the latest, bugfree version of the phisher.
Save the file to anywhere on your computer, go to that place, and extract the files using winrar(download at Free Software Downloads and Software Reviews - Download.com).
It should look like this:
If it looks like that after entering the folder you extracted, you've done it right.
Setup your free webhotel
Get your mind off of those files for a sec. I know that all of this is new to some people, and some of you are in-experienced, lacking the knowledge on how to proceed.
But don't worry, just take a deep breath, and relax.
Let's move on. You need a webhotel to host the files for you, so people can view them on the internet. You COULD host them yourself, but you SHOULD use a webhotel.
Why?
Webhotels makes it less likely that they can trace the website to YOU.
That is, IF you get into legal troubles, which is to say.. NOT likely.
Let me just say this.
IF your website gets reported to blizzard, the most likely scenario would be that they contact your webhotel, and tell them to suspend your website for copyright violation and/or phishing.
When that's done, in 90 of 100 cases, they will leave it there. They simply just DON'T have the time to go through troubles with judge, and police, and all that.
So anyways, you need a webhotel.
Requirements:
- Support PHP
- Support the use of sessions
- ??
- Is freee, for maximum profit?
I could probably list a few webhotels that meets those requirements. But I'm not gonna do that. Google is your friend, so go and search for a free webhotel...
OR..
You can use the webhotel that I'm recomending(though I've never used it for phishing).
Go to: Free Web Hosting with PHP, MySQL and cPanel
If you want to make a more trustable phisher, I suggest you to go BUY a domain. But in this guide I will only go through the use of SUBDOMAIN.
So skip the first option, and write a desired domainname in the SECOND option.
After filling out the rest of the options, my page looks like this:
Obviously I did not sign up using this domainname. If you're not planning on buying a domain, pick a name that has a connection with wow.
For example: wotlk-betasign, or something.
If you get a success message, you're good to go!
Upload the content of the phisher to your webhotel
This is probably the step that is the most difficult. I'm betting that this is the step that most people screw up. So let's take this really slow, and really beginner-friendly.
First off, go to the webhotel's members area.
Login, using your email and the password you made when you signed up.
Then when successfully logged in, you'll see a list of your domains. Click the link "Go to CPanel".
To the upper right, you'll see "Username:" And you see your username. Copy it.
Then under "Files", click "Filemanager". Login with the username you copied, and the password you logged into the members area.
Now you'll see your filemanager listing a few folders. Click the "public_html" folder. This is the place where you will be uploading your files to!
Upload all the files in the FIRST folder in your phisher.
To name a few of the files, index.php, info.php, config.php, etc..
To do that, simply click "upload" and browse your files.
After that's done, you need to create the directories that the phisher use.
So create a directory called templates, and one called images by clicking "new dir" and you can create both at the same time.
After this, enter templates, and upload all the content of the folder templates in your phisher folder, meaning these files: t_index.php, t_info.php, t_success.php
Then go up a directory, and enter images, and upload all of the content in the folder images in your phisher folder. This is alot of files, and includes other dirs, but create those dirs aswell(INSIDE THIS DIR!), and upload all of their content into the folder with that name on your server.
When this is done, you are pretty much good to go, and ready to configurate your phisher! Read part 2.
