Tor is NOT an anonymizer. It will hide your ip, but don't think you're safe scamming.
You are more safe scamming via a Russian Proxy (anonymous) than Tor.

Also, somehow people suddenly thinks Tor makes you super hidden, and that you
can't get caught using Tor, but that's wrong cause there's several things Tor cannot do!

Here is what Tor does and what it doesn't:
- When Tor is setted up and enabled in your Browser, it will enter the Tor network, and go
through a series of relays, and when it reaches the exit node, the traffic becomes decrypted.

- At the exit nodes, it's possible to sniff up data, or set up redirecting relays, so if you f.ex.
log on hotmail, it might look like and give you an error, and then you lost a user. The most
common used method though, is to sniff up Tor data and then read it. (in cleartext)

- At default installation, Tor will only be useable in your browser. Any other program than
Internet Explorer and FireFox, will NOT be used within the Tor network, as you will need to
set them up MANUALLY to use Tor.

- Scripts can show if you're using Tor as well. If you f.ex. go to a website, and use an object
which is not using the http protocol, then you will show your real ip-address as well.

- You can get banned from the Tor network, if you abuse it. (scamming IS illegal).

- Some "sockets" has been prone to problems in the Tor network, as they can reveal your
information when you use or try to use Tor on applications which shouldn't be used with Tor.

And that, should be what i should say about Tor for now. This should give the skiddie users
of Tor a point of view, on why they should think one extra time before just saying that Tor
is an anonymizer or whatever they might say. Or that you can't get caught.

Also the Vidalia bundle is not hard to install at all, as well.

All those reasons are very rare, and you keep talking about getting ''caught''. I've almost never seen anyone scamming WoW accounts getting caught. It hides your IP, that's what matters. Paypal won't track your IP and you WILL get unbanned from forums. You are talking like we are going to hack the whole internet and steal credit cards, but that's not why I posted this in the WoW scam section. You are even the first one who says this about Tor, I've seen many pro scammers talking about that you should get Tor to hide your ip..
IP sniffers won't regonize your IP either, My IP is 206.71.153.240 - Quick and Easy way to SEE my IP address - CmyIP.com for the proof.

You obviously doesn't know how Tor works Gladiator, and if you wonder why I am the first,
to post those informations here on mmowned, it's basicly because there's most likely no one
else than ME that actually knows you shouldn't abuse the Tor network. (here on mmowned).

And those are NOT reasons, but HOW the Tor network works! The only thing that's rare is to
get banned from the Tor network. Also, stealing is stealing, wether it's a WoW account or a
credit card.

And i bet most pro scammers are 13 year old incompetents which hasn't even read what
Tor does and what it doesn't do on the Official Website for the Tor Network. There's nothing
to be proud of if you scam people, you cheat and trick people and steal their accounts.

Such people has no honor in their life and cannot be trusted.

Once a scammer, allways a scammer.

PS: Just because i'm not high rank on this forum which barely knows about security,
doesn't mean that i am not just somebody.

Well, I've never said that you should use it with any other things then simple webpages / IP-sniffers. You have proven your point, but I still think your things ''HOW the Tor network works'' doesn't come with simple WoW scamming, only when you see a PRO in getting IP, or if you see a site that has PRO Ip-sniffers.

This is just a very SIMPLE way to reduce getting ''caught''. I've not said you were totally anonymous while doing this. I bet with the Russian proxy, it's hard to configure.
But ok, you have proven that Tor isn't the best.

Why don't you post a guide how to set up that Russian Proxy? You will do a great favor for the community with posting that. Without here being posted a better proxy, I will keep my thread alive.

Tor is traceable so you shouldnt be like: w00t i can now hack to FBI — Federal Bureau of Investigation Homepage and not get caught.

I follow the directions on changing my identity, but I when I check my I.P it's the same.

And I am not able to access the link when Tor is enabled either.

So, is my I.P changing or what?
