Just to correct the original poster. I'm not sure if things were different when you originally wrote this... but this scam does NOT "get back at the scammers." It's essentially stealing from Paypal because you will always end up with a negative balance on your fake Paypal account. This of course makes this scam a lot riskier than everyone is making it out to be since Paypal has the funds to track down the criminals committing fraud.

EDIT: I'm reading through these posts and I can't believe how stupid some of you are. You openly admit that your account goes negative and in the next sentence say something like "gee it feels good to get back at those scammers." The gold site STILL gets the money and there's a chance paypal can track you down (at least one person said Paypal tracked him down).

In order for this to work with practically 0 chance of getting caught you need to do the following.

1 - Do this at a net cafe, McDonalds, etc (Not your home... reasoning is because even if you use a proxy it can still be tracked back to you)
2 - Change your MAC address with a program like SMAC

Additional steps (but likely not needed and I'm just being extra paranoid)
1 - Do not use your real phone number on these gold sites (potentially Paypal could contact them and say they're investigating potential fraud... They will ask them to cooperate and obviously the gold site will gladly give out your phone number).
2 - Do not use any email address that was created without a proxy (or in a place that is not your home) and different MAC address
3 - If I think about this longer I'm sure I'll think of other creative ways you COULD get caught doing this (eg since most of you have no idea what you're doing you probably should stop trying to STEAL FROM PAYPAL).

I'm fairly sure that Paypal simply refuses to give the money back to the Chinese guy that you took the money from in the first place. I've heard of numerous people getting scammed, then not being able to get their money back through chargeback because the money on the account had already been spent.

Granted, Paypal won't be very happy, but I don't think they would take the hit on this.



EDIT: Are any Paypals still not limited? I did this yesterday and got $250 all ready to go on a reg. US Paypal account and then got limited when I tried to buy 15k gold.
