I have to go with the stream and say that UD Warlock is the best atm. That's the way I've experienced it and if I have to point out the worst too, I must say that a mage ain't the best choice to PvP with, if you can't play it very good.

Well, If you want my opinion I would have to say a pretty good PvP toon would be a bloodelf priest, holy spec. I know it may not sound amazing for most of you, but I was the #1 healer in most BG's, and did more damage than half the players in the BG. If you spec mostly in holy, but put some in shadow to get that mind flay and shadow word pain, your pretty much in.
Bubble, shadow word pain, mind flay, wand,wand,wand, run, bubble, shadow word pain,mind flay,maybe throw in a smite or so,wand,wand,run,bubble,possibly a heal, etc... it will take a while but you can outlast pretty much any class.

There isn't really a best class and/or race. Even though Frost mages are pretty goddamn stupid atm (Ice Lance is atm scaled to lvl 85, the current Ice Lance will be the same in 85 so ice lance dmg now = ice lance dmg in cata)

Theres a lot of races that have decent racials.
Overlook: (Mostly familiar with the horde races)
Human - They have a PvP trinket as racial (not literally but its got same effect)
Orc - Less stun dura & +AP/SP ability
Tauren - +5% HP & 2sec aoe stun ability
Troll - +20% haste (melee & casting), less snare dura
BE - 2sec aoe silence (Same with the tauren but this is instant, Tauren ability needs like 0.4 sec cast)
Goblin & Worgen - Pretty similiar, goblins got the bounce forward racial and worgen the 60% more speed for some secs.

I'd really say unless you wanna get reeaally technical, choose whatever you like the most.

As for classes I really don't know... Its all really complicated and I'm not gonna comment on this before cata.
