Even though this might be nice to know that you won't get useless hit rating, for dual wield classes you simply can't max hit, and if you attempt to you'd gimp your other stats too much. For fury warrior for example you should only aim for 95 hit, and after that jus go for str/crit since it benefits you more. Same for shaman except that they get 9% already from talents so they really don't need any hit at all. For rogues I believe it's a little different. Since combat potency procs on offhand hits you'll want your offhand to hit as much as possible so you gain more energy, so I believe rogues will want to socket hit alot for that reason.
Very nice

Can't say I agree with you with shamans
elemental - above 52 and I get 99% hit.. with all talents, ofcourse.. Anything more than that is trash.. but its also unavoidable.
Enhancement.. 121, 151.. no difference DPS-wise. maybe 20 dps.. but out of 1500.. I'm not going to risk 20 + strength in order to raise my to-hit by 20.
why the hell ppl need this ?
Enh. Shamans:
I myself got 12% hit (+ talents but not counted in the mouse-over calculation in the character display) and I rarely really miss, usually I hit all the time and I output usually top 1 dpser (ofc depends on the fight but on kinda, most/all fights where melee are as dependable as ranged).Originally Posted by Wikipedia

So could anyone tell me how much hit rating I should get on my rogue before I join a BT guild on him?
Remove "95 with Surefooted talent" from Hunter, since after 3.0 Surefooted no longer effects hit.
Interesting, I find that my paladin, and yes he is ret... please don't bash me, has only 3.22% hit. My friends say that I need about 6% if I'm going to do better, but as we all know ret paladins are crackin out 5K white damage now... should I just wait till the expansion to get it from the epic greens I'm going to get -_-;
Thanks a lot, +rep.
But isn't 442 for rogue a little bit to high ?
You mean to hit 100% of the time ?
great post mate, definitely helpful
thank you
WotLK spell hit cap numbers:
17% = 446 spell hit
14% = 368 spell hit (+3% from talents OR raid buffs)
11% = 289 spell hit (+3% from talents AND +3% from raid buffs)
Update for wotlk maybe?
