LHCP is by far the best raiding mod for morale. Lightens up even the most tense situations.

Even back when I was holy, I never was able to get into using grid, I tried a number of times, never worked. I've always been a fan of xperl unit frames for raid and clique.

That's just me though. I wouldn't really say grid is an "important" addon, you can raid without it, where as a mod like Omen or DBM/Big Wigs are near-essential for raiding.
