    Preferred Type of Movie Maker

    I use Windows Movie Maker right now, but it is entirely buggy, messes up my audio and video, crashes a lot. I want a stable movie maker, with good effects, etc. Anyone have any suggestions (PS: Ones I can download)

    PSS: Ones that aren't ****ty.

    I heard Sony Vegas was good when you learn how to work with it. I havn't spent any time researching it to see if you can download it or anything, or for free. But I'll try and check it out right now.

    For recording, I suggest Webcam. Smaller file size, better quality, ect.

    But for editing, I suggest Sony Vegas 6.0. I really like WMM, but you're right - its so buggy and it lags out all the time. Only problem with Sony Vegas is that I've found it really hard to figure out by myself.

    I need to go look up a guide on google some time. (;

    Re: Preferred Type of Movie Maker

    Hey again. Right, lets see now...

    Gamers who are sick to death of WMM first seem to get attracted to Sony Vegas. Its downloadable and crackable (if your into that kind of thing) and for what it does, its pretty simply to understand and after a few hours palying you'll get some nice effects/movies out of it. However, compared to the big boys, its quite limited and often takes longer when editing biger projects (things 20mins+ in length).

    For my uni work and movies, I use a variety of programs. Editing is mostly on done in Premiere Pro 2.0 (or if im feeling fruity Avid), however effects are done in photoshop, after effects and particle illusion3. Premiere Pro and Avid are really the professional benchmark for all movie editing and if you were to take it seriously, i'd strongly recommend you get those. At first they're a little more 'whoah', but after spending some time to figure it out and play around you'll soon be banging out great quality, origional looking films before you know it!

    Again, they're all crackable, however I have legit copies of thse because i use them every day for my uni work.

    hope this helps.

    Re: Preferred Type of Movie Maker

    I use Gamecam for any movies i do (which isn't usually much) which is use the downloadable version. But as for editing (effects, audio, etc.) I don't use anything because i don't know of anything to use lol.

    It's safe to say a lot of my vids are not that exciting.
