How good is Blizz at recovering deleted characters?

If you say that your account got hacked then your account is going to get closed and you're going to have to prove that the account is yours by faxing in a copy of your photo ID and filling in a few questions like what your email is (so they can send your new password to it), et cetera.

The easiest way to recover your character is to say that you left your little brother/cousin anything to that extent logged onto your character and deleted him randomly. They'll do a character rollback to the last time that your character logged on, no questions asked.

That's totally idiotic advice.

First of all, they don't always request ID. If you say you got the problem under control and have removed the keylogger, they rarely do, in fact.

Second, admitting that you shared your password with a sibling or cousin is just plain retarded. Admitting to breaking the rules will definitely not help you get anything back.

Ticket a GM, say you got hacked, say you removed the keylogger, and say you need your stuff restored.

If in the rare case they do request ID, they're doing it for your account's own security.
