Selling Gold/Botting Law Aspect
Hey Guys,
I have some Questions about selling gold and botting in Wow.
Using bots is against the ToS of Blizzard. Selling Gold is also against the ToS.
There are a lot of legal decisions where Blizzard forced companys to pay compensation.
At a certain point you need to create a company because of the amount of transactions.
Blizzard sued Bossland because "more bots, meaned less player/worse reputation".
Blizzard could sue Gold seller for competition with the WoW Token.
1. Is botting illegal?
2. Is selling Gold illegal?
3. Almost everybody here is selling a lot of gold, which company legal form are you using?
4. Is it just so lucrative that everyone gives a shit about all those things?

I don't understand. Do you mean because all/the most bots are down?

Yep, pretty much. To answer your questions:
1) It's against Blizzard's ToS to bot, but it's not illegal (at least in the US, I doubt it is in any country though).
2) Same thing as #1.
3) I don't know what you mean by "which company legal form are you using". If you mean which company are you selling to there's quite a bit, just shop around and look at reviews. This goes for purchasing as well. Personally I've always used mmogah for purchasing gold and while they're normally a little more expensive I've never had an issue.
4) Again, I don't really know what you mean by this. It's extremely risky right now to produce a bot for WoW since Blizzard has shown that they are willing to crack down hard (going after IRL assets). That's part of the reason you don't see a lot of bot companies doing it anymore. In addition to this, Blizzard has been on top of their game when it comes to banning accounts that bot / RWT. It used to be a question of if you would get banned but now it's a question of when since it's almost guaranteed you'll eventually get banned.
The people that are mass selling gold (like these websites) are generally suicide botting (buying an account, running it 24/7, and selling the gold before it gets banned), acquiring hacked accounts and mailing off the gold, or just simply reselling the gold they purchased from other people.
Finally, as to your point about "Blizzard could sue Gold seller for competition with the WoW Token." not really. Most of these gold selling websites are based in countries like China where suing them would be next to impossible. Additionally, producing malicious software for their game and selling that is a lot more damning than simply selling in-game currency to people. It wouldn't be worth Blizzard's time to try to sue gold websites since there are so many of them whereas suing a big bot provider like Honorbuddy not only gives them good publicity in the eyes of "regular" players but it also dissuades people from creating additional bots or even botting in the first place.

With question 3 I mean which company kind it is. Limited, ....
Making the gold is not the problem, that's the reason I ask about the law part.
The problem for me is selling without crashing into tax or law problems.
By question 4 I don't mean big sites. I mean people here with there own thread "BUYING ALL GOLD EU/US" are surely needed to state their winnings in their tax.
Do you have exactly paragraphs or judgements?

It would help if you listed what country you're in, but you can do the research just as much as I can. I would be lying if I said I knew anything about what you did and did not have to report on your taxes
