Flying Mount Glitch Question

Hey I tried that flying mount glitch where you use a hunter/warlock pet to get a controllable flying mount on my hunter and it worked! I'm just wondering if there's any possible way a level 42 druid could pull this off. Maybe an item like the SM dog whistle would work or a completely different strategy. Post your answer if you have one.

I'm sure it would work as long as the summoned creatures had the same abilities as that of a pet.

I don't think they do. They just attack whatever you attack I think. Would that still work? I don't want to waste my time in SM trying to get a dog whistle only to see it doesn't work.
