Ever got banned without even botting?
Hello everyone,
was wondering if anyone has encountered this before,
while I was farming in outland I suddenly get logged out only to find myself banned for six months
checked my acc email, I got an email from blizz:
"Action(s) Taken:
Account Suspended
Violation: Cheating
Your fellow players reported you for cheating. This includes actions like botting, and exploiting game mechanics.
"
I never botted since I started playing wow, I tried to appeal with no results I was wondering if someone has managed to get their account unbanned
it seems I got reported for cheating while farming on druid. maybe someone pissed or something..
Also I never participate in trade chat unless I actually I want to buy or sell something and I never ran or did casino.. im so confused is it that easy to get six months ban ? just few ppl reporting u being mad because u farm faster than them ? I mean thats the main reason why I lvled up a druid..

Yes, for being a ****ing **** with handling our guild applications. If someone performed shit, I trash talked them ingame, kicked them out of the guild and that resulted in 7 one day bans so far. LUL

And when I logged in after a bit of a break of playing wow I got a mail that my account was closed for botting, and when I contacted the GMs, they said that it was a mistake and that they suspended me just because a lot of people basically reported me for the same thing, so they didn't even look into it and just auto banned me haha

luckily it was lifted after they investigated

so do you get automated whispers from the system telling you "you have been reported by player x for doing y" or an actual whispers from the player themselves just teasing u ?

Yeah I'd just suggest contacting live support, I'm sure it'll be fine... They'll check and see that you didn't do anything wrong and you'll be gucci

Thanks for your suggestion ill try that.
Just noticed live chat isnt available for some issues, only specific ones, and account appeal isnt available on live chat.
Maybe the GMs on live chat dont have the power to unban an account?
anyway worth a shot nothing more to lose I guess lol

Try for any other issue Live Chat is enabled, within their working hours. Also, if you decide to write a ticket, try to keep it as concise and short as possible. They're extremely stubborn when it comes to reviewing bans, and your best chance of getting them to actually review it is not writing a huge wall of text explaining yourself. Good luck!

I did exactly the oppisite of what you have suggested , I actually wrote a long post explaining why I cared for the account and how dumb it would be to actually bot it.
I tried using logic, like why someone who spent 80 euros on wow tokens and other services would have the intention to bot, I even purchased 3 game times last month a bot would never risk 3 months worth of gold (imo)
My experience so far with appealing bans, is like you're in this situation where blizz is your judge, lawyer and jury and u can't do anything to win the appeal other than giving proof that you got hacked and someone botted while the account was compromised.
I'll try live chat, any suggestions how the most efficient way to write to them?
Personally I don't think the power to lift a ban but I will give it a shot anyway.

On Live Chat it's likely they'll just close the chat on you. I doubt they'd spend a few minutes to properly review your case while other customers are in chat queue. From my experience, tickets are the best way to go, and the shorter, the better.

Just finished talking to gm on live chat, they did'nt close window on me , he simply kept saying we can't help you.
And when I asked him if there's a point in appealing again, he simply said most likely it won't help
fml man if I was really cheating I would expect a ban and won't give a damn about it
Please can you give me an idea what to write in an appeal?
