[Question] Anyone had experience with account sharing?

For a few years now my friend and I have shared my main WoW account. Neither of us is interested in playing wow non-stop, so it's usually in waves. I would play until i got bored, then i would quit & he would take over, and so on. I know that technically account sharing is forbidden, but nothing ever happened to us (though i, as account owner, accept the risk that something CAN happen.).

ANyways, with Legion coming we find ourselves interested in it, and it seems like we boht would want to be active. A solution we found involves using two WoW licenses on same bnet account (so we share mounts/pets/etc, but can still play at same time). That said, we both live in different cities (same country though), so our IPs are obviously gonna be different.

Its quite common for me to be playing SC2 while he's in WoW, or him playing hearthstone while im in diablo 3 - obviously from different locations - and we never had issues. This time, however, we will both be playing same game (WoW), just on different sub-accounts, and im not sure how the system will behave.

Has anyone previously shared their bnet account by playing with other person in wow at same time (with different IP location)? I know its risky, i know shit can happen, but does anyone actually KNOW from personal experience anything about this?

    Cheers!

If the distance is far enough (let's say someone from NA playing on EU account) then it will get flagged and suspended and you are forced to submit an ID of said account to prove ownership. That's what happened to me during the wotlk days so I don't know how it is nowadays.

It happened to us a few times when we wre just starting to share, and was usually solved by a password change/account confirmation thing. At this point i think it accepted the other location as "trusted" or something.

Either way, my concern is not for that. What i mean is, i seem to be ffine playing WoW while he's playing HS, but if both of us are in WoW at same time (aka multibox), how would that go?

Multiboxing involves multiple accounts: both of you can't log on to the same account at the same time (You get an insta-DC).

u can have more then one account on one battle net and log in at the same time. Thats what most people do when they multi box because they already have their heirlooms, mounts, ect. on that one battle net.

For the OP, you wont be flagged and/or suspended. If they suspect something, you will get an email saying your account was logged in at a different location and they will have u verify your account and change the password. Once the PW is changed, neither locations will be flagged as suspicious activity and u can play perfectly fine at the same time.

i used to play with my friends account and currently do this with my girlfriends account. Both times i got that email and both times i changed the PW and everything was set.
