[HOW TO] Change Your Name on Live Servers

What I do is delete my character.
1)Delete the character you want to rename.

2)Get a friend to make a character with the same name of the deleted character.

3)About an hour to a day later, log back on on a new character on the server of the deleted character.

4)Open up a GM Petition, and say something simple, like, "My character is deleted can you restore it?"

5)Wait for the GM to respond, when he/she does then just say, "Can you restore my character, it got deleted, I think my brother deleted it."

6)Usually [From what I've seen (tested once)] is that the GM will restore your character and it will have a weird name like Deletedcharsnamexyz, when you try to log in, it will say, "This Character is flagged for rename" and then you get to enter a new name.

Key: When the petition is open and you're asking the GM to restore, make sure the friend who named a new char the name of your old char is online and playing.

Not sure if this always works, I've only done it once.

OR just ask a friend to report you saying your name means some bad word in a foreign language the above would most likely work but its a bit longer

Yeah, but what if your char's name is something wierd like.. Lavalamp.. how can you turn that into a cuss word?

nice way, but i do this
1. Friend, (preferably in the same state) gets on, deletes your guy.
2. Make a trial account, make a guy with same name. play it for like 5 mins
3. Get on your account at your house. Make a new guy, send a petition. Wait.
4. Talk to the gm, they will check the IP, and during it say something like. i was on the WoW forums and i think i may be keylogged. im running anti virus, could this of been why?.
5. new guy with new name.
