Will my exploit-gotten Alliance tabard on my Horde char fix itself if I faction swap?

Long story short there was an old exploit where a vendor in Shattrath sold either faction tabard regardless of your faction, so I got an alliance tabard on my orc hunter.

If I transfer to Alliance will the tabard fix itself and stay as an alliance tabard? Or will it just change into a horde tabard just because of how the system works (by merely equally exchanging all items)?

It would probably stay as an Alliance tabard because they would have different item ID's.

Well that's a shame. That tabard is like the rarest thing I have.
