Sniping the neutral AH. Bannable or not?

Hello everybody.

(That whole story happened around 4 days ago).

I've started scanning the neutral auction house using the addon called tradeskill master 2.0.
Additionally I've used this guide to set up the sniper modul of the tradeskillmaster 2.0 addon. (I didn't use any other auction house addons and especially nothing illegal).

Anyway I've manage to snipe around 5k worth of mats (for 30 copper to 2 silver a stack) and of course the dude that attempted to move the mats from his horde toon to his alliance toon got angry as hell and started to bombard me with whispers/calling me a thief and telling me about how he will create tickets and how I will for sure get banned.

That whole story leaves me with 2 questions:

1. Could you / did anybody in this forum ever get banned for sniping the neutral auction house using only legal addons in form of tradeskillmaster 2.0 + the sniping function of said addon.
2. Could you / did anybody in this forum ever get banned on grounds of moral reasons? I.e could a gamemaster ban or suspend me because he personally thinks that even though what I'm doing is not against the rules it's still morally wrong?

No you cant get banned for doing it. Your simply buying things from the AH. If someone gets mad, just be smart to them and ask why they put it up so cheap, great deal for you etc lol

You WILL be banned if you use a bot to buy out things.



IF you get banned, just tell the GM about tsm and what exactly your doing.

Yeah I would never use a bot. I literally just open the auction house tab and watch a movie/read while the tsm 2.0 sniper scans the first and last auction house page.

Yup. As long as you don't bot, you are totally safe. I do it when I'm bored and never had an issue.

You are likely to get reported though so you should have a clean account when doing it.

I just recently received a 24 hour suspension for linking a picture of some dude that annoyed the hell out of me in the battleground chat.
That is the one and only infraction that I have ever received over the course of the last 5 years. (I created my US account in 2009)

Btw: I am currently sniping on my second account. Both accounts are on the same bnet though.
