Trying this several times yesterday with no good results, except that for some reason my game loads and runs MUCH smoother.

1. Tried installer with Bnet app. Just opened a Taiwanese Bnet app.
2. Tried installer without Bnet app. It reinstalled the app in Taiwanese.
3. Deleted WTF folder (saved account folder because I have so many addons). Accepted terms, closed game, did what opening post said. Still english names.

I'd like confirmation if this requires a fresh install or not, because I really don't want to unistall the game and nothing was said in the opening post. It takes way too long to reinstall, but I want a foreign named raptor.

EDIT: Can't get it to work, tried everything mentioned in this thread. I'm on EU btw.

this worked perfect for me on warlock and hunter, but my existing mage isn't working out as planned

Yeah I don't think you can do it on existing mages that have specced frost before.

Only on new mages.

EU here, getting this window and it doesn't let me log to my realm, or any other realms, italian, russian etc

awesome man. i logged with russian client and tamed a new pet and it worked! logged on with US client and it still has russian name!!

I've done some research into the EU Error.

The error message says something about using the incorrect language for the server - based on myself trying to draw the characters from the error message into Google Translate.

However, it still works on US. I will try find a workaround for EU though since it used to work

Alternate Method

1) Completely Remove Blizzard Launcher as well as World of Warcraft
2) Go to https://us.battle.net/account/management/download/ or https://eu.battle.net/account/management/download/
3) Change Americas & Oceania / English (US) to Americas & Oceania / 繁體中文
4) Download the WoW Game Client that is set to 繁體中文
5) Download the 繁體中文 Client
6) It will download the Foriegn Client
7) Let it download the "Foriegn WoW" Game
8] Log into the Game whenever
9) It will be the 繁體中文 game however you can automatically access us/eu depending on what you downloaded
10) Make new hunter/warlock/mage, find/destory minion on hunter/warlock, level mage to 10 and get elemental
11) All minions should be in 繁體中文's language
12) Log out
13) Uninstall Blizzard Launcher
14) Follow the WoW Uninstall Instructions
15) Follow the "Showing Hidden Files/Folders instructions if you cannot see certain folders/files
16) Go back to https://us.battle.net/account/management/download/ or https://eu.battle.net/account/management/download/
17) Install your normal/appropriate version
18] Let it update/install
19) Log into character you modified
20) Minion will have Foriegn Letters/Symbols in it's name.

Has anyone tried this or OP's instructions lately? I really would like to do this on my account but am worried about losing all the customization in the many addons I have installed/configured. Would installing the Taiwan client on desktop or secondary hard drive, login do pet rename logout, produce the same results, w/o uninstalling original installation?

I have not seen any other instructions on how to rename a pet in another language and bring it back to US servers. Anyone successfully done it lately? Any new ways?
