Kind of makes sense.

As with every new expansion, users get new and more powerful spells, talents etc, neglecting the purpose of challgenge modes; being a challenge. Item level cap would probably still be in place, but I guess it has something to do with spells/talents

It's gonna be tough for me, as I just dinged 90 two days ago, to get my gear before the removal. I do however agree that it's about time, I actually think it's a bit late, considering that Scarlet Halls is being done in less than 3 minutes. In other words, a very welcome change in my opinion.

Me too! Hopefully they'll include weapons in WoD. Was bummed to find out that the daggers displayed along with the Rogue set wasn't available.

No. It's the upcoming patch, most likely 6.0.x, that brings in all the MoP changes. Similar to the MoP patch in Cata that brought MoP talents and such.
