How safe is to sell on eBay?

Hey guys!

I have one epic spectral tiger (ingame item) and I am thinking about selling it on eBay. I know ebay.com does not allow selling virtual items, but ebay.co.uk does. The main problem I am afraid of the most is chargeback on PayPal. Spectral goes for 400-500 USD which is quite a lot of money. I know there might be some people who can scam me by opening dispute on PayPal - they will close the case in the buyers favor in most cases (even if I have some proof - like screenshot of the ingame trade etc. - PayPal just wont accept virtual trade too).

Do you guys have any idea how to do it without being scammed?

Since duping I'm almost sure that ingame tiger don´t have value 400-500USD, more like 100USD.

About chargebacks, there are some guides on OC how to avoid that, but rule 1. should be don´t sell on Ebay, post it here and request money via PayPal as payment for virtual goods, because then payment is harder do chargeback. If you want be 100% sure that you will not be scamed, use different payment method.

I wouldn't consider Ebay the best way to sell that kind of virtual items.
I have been trader myself for a long time now and i use Market Forums and always find Verified Traders with really high reputation.
Since i have request them trade, they are not likely to scam cause it will ruin their reputation and their next trades.

Although i do this for exchanges like 50-150Euros max.
Your products cost way more and i understand the reason you are kinda afraid of selling.
But as i said, Ebay is not the way to go.

If you're selling virtual items, I wouldn't use anything that even involved Paypal.

I have a $-3000 Balance from "bad" transactions that weren't "bad", the buyer just scammed me hard core. And even though I had screenshots of him saying he scammed me over Skype, etc. Paypal wouldn't do anything after they found out it was a virtual item.

The only way I would use Paypal is if there was a way to have money sent to you without them being able to ask for it back. I heard if they "gift" money to you they can't ask for it back.
