    Conductivity on PTR

The new talent reads as: 'Conductivity has been redesigned. Casting Healing Wave, Greater Healing Wave, Healing Surge, or Chain Heal, increases the duration of Healing Rain by 3 seconds'

The timer does not reset on the boss pull, so you can stack it prior to the fight as long as you want. An example:

    - boss X is a hard m*****f***** that your raid can't kill
    - have your entire team but the raid leader log their shaman alt, resto spec, and get them to the boss room
    - every shaman drops a healing rain somewhere in the boss room (be creative) and starts spamming healing waves, so that they get the duration of the healing rain to anything like 10, 15 minutes
    - all alt shamans leave the raid instance, log back to their main class
    - drop a couple of healers for more dps
    - kill boss with 24 or even (25 if the raid leader is a shaman) eternal healing rains in the room

(24 is just a number, if you have 15 alt shamans that will do as well)

I don't have to explain what 24 stacked eternal healing rains will do to a raid ... definitely if you don't have to cast them during the fight.

    No theorycrafting here, please!

I really doubt you have extended it to 10min duration, not even 1 minute I guess!

If you do the mats properly, extending with 3sec on 2sec cast spell nets to 1sec per cast. Now calculate howmany casts you need to stack 10min=600sec.

600 casts? And which 15 alt shamans spam 30min non-stop w/o mana issues? Not mentioning the time wasted.

Healing surge is a 1.5 second cast. Also, out of combat mana regen is much higher and that you should be able to spam healing surge without much mana issues, or at least switch back and forth between healing wave, probably even reforging out of spirit for more mastery or haste is good too. You can probably start off with some int+mastery gear on the initial healing rain cast, and then swap into pure haste gear to get your cast times lower, would be able to use mana pots on cooldown if necessary too.

I can totally see this being done by a world top ranked raid group if the raid needed to push dps for a phase change or adds or something. But it'll probably be fixed before it hits live.

What's wrong with theorycrafting? The exploit is clearly described and opens a ton of possibilities. The fact that it takes preparation doesn't make it less exploitable.

You can use blood lust prior to it and elemental mastery, and the dragon soul 4p resto set bonus for a bunch of extra haste, at least on the shamans that you bring in to boost healing rain. Of course it takes time, but the time invested is directly related to the time gained. Spend half an hour buffing healing rain on a boss that is too hard can make a ton of mechanics absolutely trivial to deal with, not to mention that you can save a ton of valuable raid time / frustration wiping.

As far as mana regen goes, you could gear/gem full spirit since it's just for preparation only. Not to mention that you have a ton of mana tides available.

It doesn't really matter if you are a world first guild or a shitty guild, both can make use of it. The only limitation is the amount of alt shamans you can get going, which will be different from guild to guild.

And well there have been plenty of bugs/exploits gone from ptr into live versions. Only future will tell.

Because it clearly states in the forum rules for the section that you are not allowed to. Yes you point out a possible exploit. But unless you actually done it and tested it with proof. There is no exploit, it's just a theory.

Nice find. Honestly though I wouldn't be surprised if it went live this way and stayed that way until the next expansion.

It is not theory since you can do it.

I'm with Sarick on this one. I simply don't see why people feel like bashing the OP since he posted a well written post with a description on how to abuse this flawed mechanic. Nice find and thanks for your contribution, OP, I'll give some rep. when its off cooldown again!

I think so, too. Good description, even though I doubt it will go live like this. +Rep to the OP.

So, you've tested to see if you can have 10+ shammys put down healing rain and extend the duration enough for you to kill a raid boss without the healing rain going away? Please, provide proof or this is still a theory.

The exploit lies in the fact that you can drop a healing rain x amount of time prior to the boss pull, extend it to y amount of time depending on the effort you put into it, log out and it will still be up for the other people in the raid. That is not a theory but a fact at the time of posting it. Werther you believe that or not is my problem.
Saying that this can be done by z amount of alt shamans, is giving a rough idea to what extend this can be exploited. And it involves simple and basic math, not some weird theory that I pull out of my ass (if a boss hits for 10 throughout the fight, and a healing rains heals for 1, then one has to be pretty retarded to not understand that 10 eternal healing rains would make the encounter trivial).

No need to mate, I don't care at all about rep or taking part in a community. I encountered a bug, that is exploitable and posted it, in the hope that either everyone will start abusing it or that it gets fixed in time.

Unless you've tested that the duration you can extend it to is not limited, it's a theory that is USELESS.

If it lasts 10 seconds, but can be extended to 20 seconds, it's useless, even if it went up to 40 seconds, it's useless... like i said, unless you've tested that the duration has NO cap, this is a theory about how it COULD be used if it HAD not cap.

Theres proof it does actually work, but a lot of spells don't reset on boss pull. The theory in this is getting enough RESTO shamans for it to matter.

The whole thing is a theory because it's on a PTR. Posting exploits about the PTR is not really allowed. There's no benefit unless it's able to be abused online. Granted you can USE it on PTR but there's no gain of interest unless it goes live.
