Safe Gold Sales.

For a while now, I've been selling gold - mostly to friends, sometimes on PlayerAuctions. But that's hardly the point of this post, only a bit of background info.

The thing that bothers me, is that my bots keep getting themselves banned. They can farm for months at a time, all day every day. But as soon as they trade gold, they're banned. I've tried having the bots only farm for 4 hours a day every day, 8 hours a day every other day. Various combinations of how many days per week and hours per day, but it is very consistent: Soon as I trade gold, banned.

Either my realm doesn't care about botters, or I'm good at throwing off the flags - I don't know. Again, not the point. My question is. . . How can I trade gold safely?


Do note, that no one else seems to be getting banned. When I trade gold to myself (And then the bot gets banned), I do not get banned. Nor do any of my friends or clients that also receive gold. Just the bots.


I'm hoping someone here would have a bit of insight to offer. My trading is always face-to-face.

Possibly keep all the chat about it, out of game, and also try to do guild bank trades. They are the safest. Also check out sniffles post @ http://www.ownedcore.com/forums/worl...-anything.html ([Honorbuddy] Professional Ex-Botter AMA (ask me anything)) . He answer's alot of questions like this. Also my best guess is just dont do face to face. thats a bad idea.

I keep getting pointed to that thread. Is there anywhere where someone just gives a list of questions and answers? Quarter of the posts are off topic, and another quarter are the same questions asked again.

Then ask your question there. Just in short terms from me, is don't sell gold face to face, because blizzard is very harsh on that. If you are going to sell, make sure its through a guild bank trade. If you really love and won't stop face to face, then either use it for buying gold, or face the ban hammer right smack in the face every time.

Face-to-face might not be your main issue here, but I guess it's a start. It's hard to say as I've seen 800k+ trades f2f and people never got banned, but community seems to think guild banks are a better idea apparently. Here's a semi-legit way to pull trades:

1) Have your bots deposit gold to guild banks every day
2) Use a mule account
3) Log it with different IP from the ones bots use and create a new character
4) Invite mule to guild from a different char (either a new mule or simply alt, don't use the gathering or w/e bot char)
5) Withdraw gold, leave guild, trade gold, delete the char
6) It would be good if you could use a constant IP to log the mule from so it doesn't get locked. Buy a new battlechest every month, don't add gametime to mules =)

It's about as safe as you can get.

Why would you choose to not add gametime to mules? Is that not more expensive, and wouldn't it be better overall to just pay for the mules with gamecards?

That and you risk of being banned within minutes/days of adding gametime. Much better if you simply buy a new one.
