I haven't played the AH since WoTLK. Haven't played much since then either.
I would like to know if it's still possible to make a lot of gold during the first few days of launch of a new expansion such as the upcoming WoD? Could you tell me how I may optimise making gold during those few days?

I've also got two questions:

- If you build up a casual leveling guild, won't it be suspicious what happens to the guild bank (-money)? If one day I invite "sgadqljhsgj" who withdraws 100k and leaves? So far I am only having a guild with two bnet accounts of mine in (one being my main), however I did not bot excessive (or let's rather say, I botted inefficient). As I want to intensiate botting, what would you do with new guilds? Really a Leveling Guild, where nobody has read-access to the bank? Is it possible that they don't even see the gold amount? If so, how would you get members as on my server it's just a huge spamming of non-guildies, so it's hard to get even one member

- Regarding Taxes: Did you pay them? If so, can you just say "Gold Selling" or something as a source? Because I don't have any Bills/Contracts with the Chinesemen.
Or did you just say "nothing" and nothing happend? I can Imagine PayPal flagging you when you have more than 1000€/month or something as income?

I was doing this in a bank guild back when one could buy RAF. I would buy from Pr3cious, He would withdraw XX thousand gold and it was just fine. Many dgsfga toons came and went over a period of 6 months. No issues at all.

It's not as suspicious as you think, I've never ran into an issue of the guild withdrawal process. New guilds on a new server are hard, you're going to have to level it yourself a bit (consider DK spam leveling over and over with new characters).

In regards to taxes, I claimed freelance web development (since that was my side job prior to gold sales) as my employment and paid taxes accordingly.

Of course it's possible, however this next expansion has the garrisons stuff. They run your professions for you while you're offline/afk. I'll research it more when beta launches.

I think it was because i was doing it on a high pop server - even though I was CRZ'd over to a low pop, people could see me in townlong for example, and just report me. I bet it was this other botter, tbh. He looks to still be active today.

Read through most of the pages here. Just two questions based on what I've read which is:
1. You've stated that you did this 16h per day in one post.
2. You've stated that you earned $1000 per month.

I'm not sure but...I wouldn't really call that a success...But I don't really wanna rain on your parade, you seem to know a lot about botting. But it also seems that you've done way too much micromanagment.
I can give you an example, you're saying that you sell the level 25 guilds. Thats 100-120K worth of gold, sounds sweet. However, finding a buyer that is actually gonna take the risk of buying something like that ingame without any guarantee that he actually gets the guild is going to be hard. You're probably looking at like 5-8 hours of spamming the trade chat before you find someone interested. And then 30-60 minutes talking to him trying to convince him that you're a nice guy and you wont scam him on hes gold.
So now you've put down 6-9 hours for 100K gold, gold sells for roughly 0.68 usd per 1000g = $68USD for your guild and roughly 6-10 usd per hour of work. Was that a good salary? Factor in taxes and all that and you're probably going to have to cut that profit in half. After taxes 3-5USD/hour...

My tip to you new botters is this.

It's the same as routined trekkers and climbers tell people that are newbies at trekking and climbing. Always double the time it takes you to climb said mountain or trek said path.
What I'm trying to say is that after you've done your rudimentary arithmetics and came up with yada yada profit / time and all that. Now take that number and cut it in half, that's what you'll actually make. After all the stucks/blizz shutdowns/bans/HB-downtime etc...

In the end, enjoy the game. Don't buy a botting PC, it is not worth it. Its a time sink and the time invested is not something you will have a good return on. Better to just go to work, work a day or two and buy 400K gold.

And for the tips and hints given in this thread, most of them are good. So cudos to you for bringing good information to those foolish enough to tread this path.

I agree with what you've said. I base my success on someone who's averaged a successful botting career and doesn't want blizzard handing out cease and desists. Owning 10-15 accounts (which is what I used to powerlevel guilds) is the maximum I would ever suggest to someone. It lets me rotate them appropriately without worrying. I would never tell people to do the "Kamikaze botting" with an account that goes out, makes its gold just to get banned later that day. A lot of my techniques are for people who only have 2 accounts and wish to keep them.

You didn't read far enough, but I have private buyers who are always buying for a set price. I'm certain you misread content here, I didn't sell level 25 guilds with NO gold. Most of the time they had well over 500k. The level 25 guilds (back when it was worth it), sold very quickly, I put ads in forums and so forth. I never had trouble selling what I've made. After you build up a decent bunch of buyers it takes no time to push out the guilds and gold to make it worth your time.

And yeah, I agree with you 100% that Kamikaze-botting is such a drag. But if you really like typing CD-keys it might be the thing for you lol I personally cant stand it, I'd rather put my hand in a blender and hit frappé.
