Ok so during the last month i got a huge ammount of bans on my farmers,previous to this i had none,and some of my bots were botting for almost a year

Anyone got some info on whats happening?Could it be because of the WoW sale?Blizz is banning bots so they buy the cheap keys during the sale?
If so,any chance at the banwave stopping after the sale is over?

Im jus asking to know what to do next time blizz has a sale lol,getting like 10 bots banned is bad for business

I got perma banned on an account that only had a warning before.
I doubt it's a banwave, though. If it were, you wouldn't have to ask about bans, there would be tons of posts about it.

I agree, the botting in BGs is just atrocious now. I hadn't pvped for ages and when I stepped into a BG the otherday I was so shocked at how many just blatantly bot, if half your bg isn't bots then you are pretty damn lucky.

I agree that the ban's seem to have increased over time - but, recently there have been some interesting posts at HB that are a bit concerning.

Now I'm not here to say that HB is detected or that the sky is falling - just a general thought.

1. Blizzard sues HB - reason: If they take out the company, the subscribers will most likely still play (until a new way is found) and then they continue to make $$

2. Blizzard - Total Ban of all HB users: This would be an insane and stupid move by Blizzard and if I were the CEO this would never happen. There are an ungodly number of bot users in Blizzard - it would be cost effective to just increase the number of bans - therefore causing a small bit of chaos like you're seeing at HB and then people become scared and stop botting, but they continue to play WOW and WOW keeps a decent subscriber base.

**To shutdown a Bot Company - Stops that bot and keeps a majority of the subscribers. **To do full bot ban assault - wipes out a HUGE number of subscribers.

Again, just me thinking out loud. I still bot and have 4 bots running with 0 bans, but like many others my days are numbered.

How many people do you really think bot in WoW?

Its not that much related to the amount of players dissing the game because of bots.

Yep I also got permanently banned, my first ban.

Funny thing is my friend was botting in the same zone and he got nothing.

Eesh, starting to get a bit hesitant now. Maybe I should lay off for a few weeks.

I mean I've just been re-assuring myself that my first ban would be a three day and I would stop after that, seeing as I rarely heard people getting perma-banned for their first offense. But if there are first offense permas going out now... I mean, I've been botting since WoTLK just to get past menial tasks in the game and I have never once been banned.

But then again I actively play my account too and I rarely do any blatant bot stuff unattented/infront of other players (save for LazyBot with interrupt disabled in LFR) and never for a long period of time. I guess, to any GM looking at my account, I am perfectly normal?

Look back a bit. Wow restocked on amazon = slam, bans increase for a few days. Why not, its their game they can see all the bots anyway, they just make you bring them more money from time to time.
