I was banned yesterday. Botting maybe 5h a day, but I was using Ducks profiles in MOP. Still, huge bans recently so be careful, already lvling a toon on a new account tho haha
Mine on Lazybot 3 hours aday
With the amount of bans being reported lately, obviously something is going on, I've only been running GB for short stints recently and watching it to make sure nothing odd happens, also using private buyers for everything, I have absolutely no interaction with AH at all. These random nodes are indeed a cause for concern as a human wouldnt spot the node respawning behind him most of the time, its getting to the point that its hardly worth using gatherbuddy any more.
It's a nice theorie but i still stick with my theorie of nodes per hour gained. Why did they not ban more people like now is because i think there is an increasement in bots with everyday new bots joining. They can't ban all bots at once then world of warcraft is screwed too. A lot of low populated servers can't be without bots or else nothing will be for sale in the ah to keep the market going.
I think they got the numbers of bots that are running and as they are in court against HB they would like to deal their damage to the company and take out a decent ammount of HB users with ofcourse hitting few other bots too. But to a point that it keeps the market flowing and not dying out.
I agree with Watcher; Blizzard doesn't want to ban all the bots at the same time. I'd say that they're just banning a significant amount of people to make it clear that they don't accept bots as part of the game. Ban several of them, and some people might think twice before botting again on their mains. It's like a way to say, "Hey, look, we care about bots; don't quit the game if you're not a botter!"
I'm not sure of what'll happen after they settle their case with HB, but the entire WoW virtual economy would just crash without the cheap materials that bots provide. They're a necessary evil.
Something it is going on...i lost 2 bots this week myself.
Don't know if it is pure coincidence but both of them got banned after midnight between 12am-2am , one 5 days ago and one today.
I noticed I got ported to the dailies @ 6am server with a bunch of other people. I seen a few of the other people freaking out (bots trying to fly back). So i waited the next morning to see if it did it again and nothing. So you may want to check for when the dailies reset and see what your bot is doing.
That might be a clever strategy to use.
Although I don't think anything like this would be related to the recent bans. I was banned using a grinding profile to level up my death knight, I got banned with less than 3 hours of botting time that I was supervising. :\ Thankfully it was only a 72 hour ban, I feel bad for everyone getting permas.![]()
