    Golden Laundry / Washing Gold

    Hello all,

Relatively new to the forums here, and have been thinking about possibly getting into the dark side of WoW. I ran a search for basic information on what is safe / not safe as far as laundering Gold in WoW. Yes I know it sounds straight criminal, but seeing as how it is a game, it does not apply .

Basically what I want to accomplish:
I want to gain wealth on an account by either botting or purchasing, completely separate from any other accounts. This account will get banned, I am ok with this.
I want to launder at least 50% to 75% of the bot profit to another account, which I honestly MUST keep safe. I want a super small chance of this account being banned.

What I like to consider some basic truths:
If I farm on one toon, and hand the gold to another account, the second account is going to be banned as well.

So I would like to know how safe some of the following methods are, and if anyone else has experience in these types of things.
#1. If I transfer actual items (think orbs used for crafting, that you buy for 20k) will that be viewed as obvious exploiting? EX. Buy orbs, give them to my hidden / "clean" use them to craft, sell the crafted stuff on clean account.
#2. How safe is using a guild to move items to and from different accounts? Can blizz actually prove the guild owner / bot are one in the same if the bot dumps mats into the guild bank and the guild leader takes mats out? What if the guild allows OTHERS (not related) access to some of the mats as well? My thoughts here... dump 20k worth of mats into the guild bank, allow others (not me, not friends) access to some of it first, and after they take some out, take some out myself... meaning others are helping cover my tracks.
#3. Guild gold deposits... would the deposits by bot then withdrawn later by guild leader be to obvious for blizzard system?
#4. Third-party crafting. Bot mats for common good items. Use bot to find a crafter, get item crafted in mass, dump them in guild bank. Guild leader later pulls them out to sell or trade. To obvious?

Does anyone else have any additional ideas or input for handling this?
    Thanks!

For some reason, that post had the "*****ian Prince" vibe to it...
    I /point /laugh at those who /point /laugh at others!
And if you cannot laugh at yourself, I'll be more than happy to do it in your stead.

    Oldies but goodies right?

Basically this... my original account is a Scarab Lord, and full 90s. I simply dont want to lose this account, but Im about sick of playing the gold game, as such, I want a way to enrich my main account, without getting it banned.

So I need safe ideas for moving gold from account B to account A without account A being.... accountable

    1) Yes, it is exploiting. unless you are using a VPN to hide that both accounts are using the same IP, theres already a good chance they will be linked (look up the most recent dupe banwave and the subsequent bans for secondary accounts people used to store the duped goods).

    2) there is a log even right in your face of who is depositing and withdrawing. You are naive to think Blizzard doesnt have much more information about IP's, log times, frequency of transactions, etc.

    3) Once again, the guild log clearly displays the in and outgoing gold. Gold sellers often use guild banks for trades of gold, but the gold is often removed quickly. I have been using this across my accounts for transferring for quite awhile, though. with so many guilds and so much gold being moved, i doubt its an easy task to pin it on botting and farmers.

    4) Dont be stupid about how you sell the mats and you shouldnt have a problem here. I go through a few hundred green/blue items a day on my accounts, mail mats and sell on AH daily and it is OK.

As with anything (and im suprised it hasnt been said yet), if you dont want to lose the account, dont take the risk. No one can tell you definitely what is safe and what is not, because its impossible to tell when blizzard goes on their next PR bot banning rampage and tries to clean up. From the looks of it, you have an attachment to your main account, so id suggest to leave it at this thread and save yourself the eventual "LF unbanning service" thread.

Hope this helped, good luck on your quest

But see, the problem is, if you're just doing that then you're essentially botting/farming/selling for the sake of it.

Imo one of the main reasons you bot/do underhand things, is to "enrich" your main account that you have invested time and effort in, and want more gold/gear/whatever to actually USE for something.

If you bot/farm/sell on 2nd account and never involve your main, then what's the point? You cant actually benefit from it on the characters that you want the advantage on.

(This is of course assuming you dont bot and get gold to sell for real life cash, which the OP doesnt seem like doing).

I suppose if you set up a second account inside a VM, with a VPN and a fresh install of WoW, and the botting account has a completely different name and payment method to your main account - the accounts will not be linked. Different IP, different computer, different name, different country. Don't add each other to friends. Don't whisper each other. Don't trade. Don't join the same guild.

You could 'accidentally' put the item on the AH for the wrong price and buy it with your main account, or alternatively do what other people do legitimately which is put items on the Neutral AH cheap to transfer between H/A. Buy that item on your main.

Regardless of what people say, if accounts aren't linked in any way, AH is probably the safest. Your main would have no way of knowing the source of the item you are buying and can easily claim ignorance if anything happens, which it shouldn't if you completely separate the two accounts.
