I have never ever experienced in my life that lvling is fun

Note that i have lvld a paly to 30 once. It was OK,but i was holy specced so it was fun to heal.

i like in this order

1. Mage Like spells and good for groups
2. Warlock Nice Solo
3. Rogue Good PvP
4. Hunter Also Good for Solo And Pet can tank
5. Warrior Fun With Groups
6. Pally Can Sub For DPS and Heal

1. For a warlock, you will be considered "overpowered" by a lot of people, yet you'll have more fun in PvP than a hog on a christmas table that jumps off and joins the circus.
2. As for your original choice the shadow priest I have to say was good, because once you hit 70 if you plan on keeping it, you can respecc holy and basically get into any instance/raid you want. And as far as PvP DPS goes, you have 60+ levels of shadow experience, so you wouldn't have to worry about that.

I like the way you think , Nub . My choice went for Warlock, as you may or may not know, and I started it yesterday. It's now almost lv 16. Even though I bot alot, I must say when I play I really enjoy playing it. When I run out of mana, life tap, then drain life. That way i have mana + life back. Love it. And I hardly EVER run out of mana. Although , i am sure it will be a lot harder to find a group for instances on 70. Priest > Lock in that situation.
