Buying gold, flagged = ingame mail from blizzard ?

    Hello,

Today i bought some gold, and 7 hours later i got this ingame mail from blizzard asking me to read my *main* email.
As far as i can tell its a valid mail from blizzard ingame ( 90 days before it dissappears) and the logo and so on.

I also got the e-mail which said:

    Greetings,

In light of some recent activity on your World of Warcraft account, we’d like make sure you’re aware of the negative impact that buying gold from third-party companies has on the World of Warcraft community -- as well as the potential consequences for players who are found to be using such services.

Every day, we encounter players who have been victims of in-game scams or whose Battle.net accounts have been stolen, and who log in one day to find their characters’ inventories have been stripped of gold and other valuable items. The overwhelming majority of these scams and thefts are conducted by unethical third-party companies that sell stolen gold to other players for real money. Accounts of players who choose to buy gold and support these exploitive companies may be subject to a variety of account penalties, including the removal of purchased gold so it can be returned to the rightful character.

Third-party gold-selling companies frequently prey upon dedicated players -- often including their own customers -- without regard to the disruption their actions cause to the game and other World of Warcraft players. Ultimately, without players’ support, these companies have no way to continue their unethical actions, and that’s why we encourage the community to refrain from using their services.

Additional information on the negative impact of purchasing gold, as well as some important information on how you can protect your account from theft, can be found on our website at: Impact of Buying Gold - Services - World of Warcraft

Thank you for helping us keep World of Warcraft a fun and safe environment for all of our players.
    Regards,

    Blizzard Entertainment
    Battle.net Support

    Am i in trouble now?

It doesn't look like it to me, they may take that gold back though? If they ever suspend you for it Tell them: "Huh? I didn't buy any gold, someone just randomly sent it to me today..." . They wouldnt ban you for it if they didn't know for sure that you did indeed buy it imo.

I would lay low for a bit (not buy gold for a week or two), as they are very likely monitoring your account. If you get any notice from Blizzard like that, it's a "hey, it's a slap on the wrist this time, but don't let us catch you doing it again" type of thing.

It might be a scam email, remember it's just a game and there will always be exploits.

It sounds to me like they've traced this money back to a stolen account, as opposed to finding out that you bought the gold. I've had this experience with the same site 2 times, another site 1 time and other than that none. Sites like GameUSD, Guy4Game don't tend to get removed; As they use genuine farmers.

I would rather invite the seller to my leveling guild and ask him to put the gold in vault and then i could take it when ever i wanted from there and it never could be directly tracked to me as "buyer".

I got this today, FML. No ban or suspension. Guess I'll have to lay low for a while.
