I know people in the blizzard company, when I asked about this they said it basically means "we have suspicions about you buying gold, but can't prove it to a point of a bam and/or your in good standing with blizzard" blizzard is unable to directly monitor everything that you and trade you make, so it's seen as just "xxx toon traded 30,000 gold to xxx toon"

Basically it's a care tactic, in a months time you can buy gold again I recommend bankofwow.com as they do it via ah and you cannot get banned

    Same eMail

This is nuts. Like the first guy, I got my email exactly seven hours after my purchase. I only bought 5k, so it's not a huge amount that is setting off the alarms. It has to be the site the gold was purchased from. If Blizzard can make a game of this magnitude and seems to be able to record almost every facet of game play, they most certainly have technology in place to filter out the undesirables who are stealing to sell gold. I bought from imbuygold.com -- mainly because it's cheap and never had a problem with them in the past. I think theft has been linked by Blizzard to this seller, and others, and they have them on their radar. And now me. Anyway, it's only logical that since the seller obviously has accounts to be providing the gold, that any theft they engage in would be traced to them. Then any trade with any toon from that seller's accounts is guilt by association.

Well, it's been about a month now and I'm just wondering if it's safe to buy again. Of course this time from a seller that will not raise suspicions. So, has anyone had a safe transaction since receiving this email? And if so, how long did you wait?

They have probably just flagged the IP of the biggest chineese companies around..
That being said, that every account they make up a trade with / trade gold towards, will get a fine email like op got, and hopefully it'll scare ppl enough, to make them stop purchaseing gold.

Most "good" gold sellers will use a proxy to trade the gold, most likely whoever you are buying from is not doing this. Even when I sell gold the buyer proxies the transaction.

Be smart about who you buy/sell with. If you are getting flagged for 5K transactions, they/you are trading completely wrong and he is using a straight up chinese IP for a US realm.

The couple guys I deal with know my relative location and proxy to a neighboring area.

I got the same mail after purchasing 70.000 gold from gameUSD.

So it took them 5-6 years and around 2.000.000 gold before I got the first warning. Not bad.
