Target nearest friend problem

Hey, i read in the server first post about the target nearest friend/interact keybinding, and was happy intil i was going to test it out in hyjal on quest npc's
I had Target nearest friend binded, and ofc interact with target.
(Also tested out Target nearest friendly player but that does not work on anything almost)

I had Target nearest friend binded, and ofc interact with target.

Both work perfectly on all npc's in stormwind im closest to, but when it comes to quest npc's im going to deliver to etc
it works on some and some it does not work on.

Example : Standing in Hyjal with the big statue and 2 guards on both sides of quest npc, im closest to the quest npc in middle
but when i use the keybinding for target nearest friend it targets only the guards back and forth.

Is this a bug or am i doing somthing horribly wrong?

Are you sure that the NPCs it doesn't work are friendly? They could've been neutral, with yellow reaction color.

Yep really sure, they are friendly, i tested it on the npcs in hyjal and in molten front.

example1 : Matoclaw outside with the statue i could not target but could target the guards,
example 2: Keeper Krothis i could target fine and interact but not the one next to him Avrilla.
example 3: General Taldris i can target fine etc but not the one next to her Captain Irontree.
example 4: Theresa Barkskin also a quest npc that is alone sitting i can not target at all.
