Unmerged Accounts - Looking for Experienced Perspectives

After having my main account banned due to a hacking mix up whilst at an out of town seminar, I decided to purchase an unmerged account instead of paying for a new account and entirely restarting. This was only last night, so the account seems fine today. However, I kind of believed that the whole scenario was too good to be true (I used SoR for the free 80), and did some research. I found and read a bunch of threads talking about how people who had been purchasing unmerged accounts were getting them locked - this causes a problem, because I don't really want the new account locked. I was actually planning on purchasing a few more, then transferring the 80s produced from the SoR to one main account and cancelling the rest (letting them run their 7-day course). There seems to be some conflicting information on how to prevent this.

1) Supposedly when you merge the account, and email is sent to the original owner of the account allowing them to "reclaim" the account, if they happen to still check the email.
2) If the account is locked, due to "suspicious activity" you can:
a) Run the "my account has been compromised" prompts and send in a picture of a valid ID to match the account and that should unban it?
b) Blizzard will tell you that the name on the ID and battle.net account don't match and opt not to remove the lock
3) I have also read that merging more than one account per day should be avoided, or perhaps even more than one account per IP.
4) How high is the lock rate on the accounts? From people who have bought them, what fraction of the accounts have been disputed/reclaimed/locked and after what period of time from purchase?
5) Would something like what I outlined above be flagged as suspicious and potentially have my accounts banned? I figure it's definitely some kind of "exploit" of the SoR service to transfer all the fresh 80s from the alt. accounts to one main one. Would it be smarter to pay for all the expansions and open a legitimate account, then transfer all the 80s from the old, unmerged accounts to the main account on an alternate battle.net email?

I may think of some more stuff, but I'm looking for some people who have done this and are accustomed to what may or may not happen soon.

Well, I personally bought 5 Unmerged accounts, 4 of them were EU and 1 was US and none of them were locked or suspended. I heard from other people that merging more than one account per day might cause them to get locked, but I also heard from them that as long as the battle.net is under your name and you can send a scan of your ID they will unlock the account.

I really don't think that you should pay for the games when Unmerged accounts are cheaper and you can also get some old, valuable chars.

Ok, thanks for the input. How long have you had the unmerged accounts? Did you merge them all on the same day?

I'll give you some of my experiences with accounts I have bought.

I own my own unmerged accounts in my own name from BC that I use for my services, but I used purchased ones for botting and testing.

I do not merge more than one account per Battle.net.

I do not merge more than one every few days at least.

I've done over 15 and never had any banned. I once had one locked because of IP changes. I was asked to send in ID. I sent in ID with info on battle.net (not original unmerged info) and Blizz unlocked it.

Been playing them and never had an issue.

Merged 4 accounts with my main battle.net and nothing has happened to me so far.
Been well over a month now.
No contact from Blizz, no locked accounts, nothing.

I only merged each new account as the others ran out, so it was like 1 per week.
