Keeping opposite faction mounts after a faction change

So, this hunter here: Mounts - Game Guide - World of Warcraft has a purple hawkstrider as Alliance.

Does anyone know how it's done? or if it is just a blizz fail after a faction change. I am guessing blizz fail.

Just seen this thread on the WoW forums. Wish I knew how it's done, I'm just about to faction change myself :/

Mount up -> faction change ->exit wow-> transfer> never dismount ^^)

It's not that, he actually has the mount. He can dismount and remount as many times as he wants.

He probably deleted the mounts, did a faction change and asked for the deleted items to be restored.

That would not work, they have a race requirement.

i logged in and asked him about it. he didnt seem to want to chat and said that he knows about the thread where i got his name. he said that he was hacked and faction changed and realm transferred but didnt comment on the mount. im guessing it was an error on blizzards part.
