I tried to appeal the ban twice with no luck. They basically told me if I contact them again I will not receive a response. My 6 year account had never received so much as a warning or temp ban in all the years I played. What shit customer loyalty.

You used a hack expect to get banned. It's your own fault you knew you were using a hack so you have know one else to blame but yourself.

ban waves happen when there is an update in warden *or new method* that flags peoples accounts so when they hit the mass ban button LOADS are banned at once.

you "can" get banned for useing any program that cheats/hacks or is not allowed to use, if you will get banned thats another question and no one other than blizzard could answer this.

Reason for Closure: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Unauthorized Cheat Programs ("Hacks")

This account was closed because one or more characters were identified using an unauthorized cheat program, also known as a "hack." These programs provide character benefits normally not achievable in the World of Warcraft. Such benefits include, but are not limited to, increased speed, teleportation, or running through walls/boundaries. Use of these unauthorized programs harms the game environment because they offer an unfair advantage over other players and supersede the intended limits of the game.

Even if this is the result of account sharing, the account owner can still be held responsible for the penalty because of the impact it had on the game environment.

We've found the above behavior is many times directly related to groups responsible for compromising World of Warcraft accounts; we take these issues very seriously. To better understand our position against exploitative activity and the risks involved, please review this article: Gold Buying and Power-Leveling - Support - Battle.net Support

The exploitative activity that took place on this account violates the World of Warcraft Terms of Use. We ask you take a moment to review these terms at Blizzard Entertainment: Blizzard Legal Documentation. Note that additional Terms of Use violations may result in more severe actions against this account, up to and including permanent closure.

So does this mean the ban is only temporary? Or am I permanently banned?

I got banned for selling gold...but I refuted it and said I was giving it to my friend's little brother as a birthday present...I knew some of my client's personal info and I told it to them...and they said that they'd take that off, but that I had used some client modification too. I said I was using a patch that made it so I could load model edits, and that I just have different tastes in art than most people.

    Unbanned.

Hope this helps someone else get unbanned too.

    Playing on US.
