Either get yourself banned, or give your account to a friend and get them to change the security question, bin all your keys or give them to your friend so you can't recall it. Uninstall wow.
I have a hard time deciding if I want to do it or not

Sell your account then if you want something back from it.
+1 above.
You should sell it. You're not going to get your time back, but i think you'll be abit satisfied that you atleast got some money out of it.
I think when you play wow alot you are also in a hardcore raiding guild. Start leaving the guild and search another one, maybe a fun guild or a raid grp for only 1 or 2 days a week if you didn't want to play wow that much anymore. I've done this ~ a year ago and still have fun playing wow more "casual like". More time for friend and family but you still play the game that brings you fun.
I will quit

Try to make it more casual. I know it's hard, I've been there myself. But as stated above, try to find a "fun-guild" and not a serious one. If you don't feel comfortable with this you could try to sell your account - at least when you already have annual pass on it. It should probably be worth at least a bit.
Give up on playing the 'real' game and start exploring.
Once I gave up on dungeons, PvP, raids, and all the 'normal' things that make this game tick.... I started having my own fun!
No more 1/2 hour queues... no more relying on others... and NO MORE GRINDING!
(PS - This response is partially tongue-in-cheek, so take it with a grain of salt. I have every fishing achievement in the World of Warcraft... so I certainly still grind!)
You can go to Moongaurd and try to RP, always a good laugh
Hey.
Maybe try to stop Wow not slow but rapidly?
Go out! Search for some friends.
Go to a club. Do some bullshit with them, much more fun than video games.
Try to get a GF! Mostly will help to get a away from video games.
Sell you account! Disrupt all connections to Wow!
Really do it rapidly. I dont think that others thinks really work.
Regards
It may sound obvious but check wow addiction - Google Search
This, this and more this; when you find you want to quit doing something but still love it, you have to spice things up, do something else ingame and don't take the game so seriously. Personally, I was a guild master of an hardcore raiding guild four years ago after almost failing college and to my surprise, I was able to enjoy the game just messing about trying to find new exploits, exploring, collecting transmog sets, collecting mounts at my own pace for the last four years and have found that it stopped my addiction to the game as I found something which is fun to do within which did not require massive amounts of time investment as well as without having to stop playing WoW completely, this made a huge improvement IRL as I went from a near college drop out to a highly ranked uni graduate with two titles while still being able to play a game I enjoy.
End of the day, if you really love WoW; you will go back to it time and time again, I have quit multiple times, once for as long as seven months. But all in all, if the desire to play is there then it doesn't matter if you get banned, you'll make a new account, it doesn't matter if you lose characters, you'll make new ones. Instead, try to just cut down and play in different ways, find new sources of enjoyment in the game which are less demanding of your time.
My apologises if I went a bit too far there, but if you are concerned about WoW creeping up and conquering your life due to how much you like it, I suggest you find a way to control it without removing it all together.
