Sands of time

So there has been a lot of people on my realm selling sands of time (3k from vendor) for ridiculously low prices such as 10x sands for 10k etc etc, anybody know of anything that could make this make any sense.. I am think there is some exploit to get them super cheap from vendors or duplicate them somehow.

If it helps, they are trading you the sands from a separate account to which they are advertising from.

Even if they were why not just give away the 2k instead of selling something 1/3rd of the vendor price.

There are idiots on WoW that have no idea where the sand comes from, so people post it on the auction house for insane prices to become the suppliers of the mats, and not the actual vendor.

I think the OP is saying sellers are marking it down 1/3, not marking it up

Correct^, it costs 3k from the vendor. They are selling them at 1k a pop, or 800 if you buy over 10.

As far as I know there is a dupe that some gold sellers have been using to dupe sands of time:

If a working, reliable dupe method was found, it would be posted in Elite, or it would get fixed within the hour.
