Well, Defcon has ended, and what can I say. There was tons of neat people, places, and things to see, and it was all topped off with an unexpected RAoV meetup. I was hugely suprised when someone came up to me after the end of the Hacking MMORPGs Q&A and said they were surprised I had mentioned those fateful letters - RAoV. A complete coincidence as, well, there was hardly anyone in the room itself. We never expected to ever meet face to face, but we ended up having a great chat.
The Defcon badge came as a complete surprise as well. This year there was a non-electronic badge included, which started the 1057 challenge. In the end, after spending a tons of time on the badge, and only making it to a couple of actual talks, Team F***ingLost (Actual name of the team collaboration I was lucky to be a part of) came out on top and managed the first successful decoding of the puzzle elements!
I'm looking forward to Defcon 20, where hopefully we can have an RAoV face to face with other members of the site, and not just by accident either! We'll hopefully be able to have some in depth chats about MMOs and other games in general during next year, which I will attempt to spearhead.
I'd like to give a shout out to everyone else in the group for the badge as well. Everyone spent litterally 18-21 hours a day for four days working on the puzzle (Hardly sleeping/eating) while I was greedy enough to go to a talk or two and sleep more than 3 hours per night =(. But I am glad I did get to contribute something to the team and am very glad everyone that worked so hard will always get to stay in the limelight!
