Wow... many long term players in my guild have quit... You guys too?

So, my guild has been around since just when TBC hit. It was a new guild and pretty much all of us first members in it were Vanilla players.

We were VERY strong in TBC and WOTLK as a guild. We have been active and fun and fresh with guild events... but, in the last 2 months, we have successfully lost from the WOW game as a whole (they are still guilded but with canceled accounts) probably 80% of the old members.

It's very sad, but the first month of CATA seemed great, as everyone was experiencing all of the new stuff and lvling... Then, for some reason, BAM, everyone got bored. Many guys were like "Eh, I'm pretty bored with Cata already." They said they would come back when it looked more interesting...

Yesterday, we just lost 5 more of our serious and long term guildies, 1 who was an officer, to the game RIFT. They already have a guild bearing our name on their RIFT server with just now 30 former WOW members...

I admit it... I have gotten totally bored of Cataclysm too now and I am thinking of quitting...

SO, is this just because we are all old Vanilla players and WOW just has finally gotten old, or is Cata really that unexciting? Are some of the new WOW players that maybe started in WOTLK also feeling this?

To be honest, I think Cataclysm is way more fun than WOTLK. Then again, I really hated WOTLK. I'm not quitting, but I have started playing less.

I quitted as well yea (not to another game but just in General) and I've been rolling since TBC.

I quitted after a month of Cataclysm, but I'm slowly starting up again, I just hope it won't be difficult to find a raiding guild when you don't have any cataclysm raiding experience yet

Well, I definitely think that WOTLK was definitely not WOW's high point, but it wasn't too bad... There was definitely a lot to do when WOTLK first came out... I don't know why, but Cata just feels limited I guess. I even went and did all the questing in every single zone for loremaster to check out the new content. It was pretty good in most zones, but so what... It's not a ton of fun burning through quests at lvl 85. But I have noticed that I am playing less and less each week. If I quit it won't be for another game, it will be just to stop...

Most people left because of the promises that were not kept. They promised to make stuff harder again and give it more of a vanilla feel by making less talents etc. But all they did was make it exactly like wotlk imo. Once ZA and ZG come out you can cap out on points without doing a single raid, they are giving away gear. They are making the 2 new heroics easier then the current ones almost and making it give higher ilvl gear then raids afaik (i quit playing (because i was in beta for months and did a ton of the stuff) so im not sure but thats what i heard). They went back to rehashing content. 4.1 was supposed to bring a new raid and instead they are giving us back something they already made.

All in all, they made lots of promises and failed to keep them already, and the expo hasnt been out for long.

Rift is offering a more vanilla feel with a refreshing amount of new things added. The rifts are sweet, and expert dungeons truly are EXPERT dungeons. Rift is releasing a new patch which is ****ing up the entire world so that even lowbies have to participate to get it back, it truly is amazing.

This basically, cata is muc hbetetr than wotlk and 1000x betetr than tbc. I don't play serious anymore (not that I really did before) just for fun as some aspects are really good. I mean JD and myself went crazy over a starting worgen quest where u throw a barrel on a npc's head :P

It's mainly because you have been playing for so long.Even if the game adds new and exciting content over and over it still gets boring.Every game does.
Just take a break and when you feel interested again renew your subscription.

I can confim that
we have 50 lvler years ago and still not enough for the orders,
but now only 8 lvler and not enough orders for them to work

Classico & TBC was the best until cata came out imo. (Haven't testd cata lul)

No, the gear dropping from there is for more casual players so they can get to some raiding also. It is also lower ilvl than what drops from raids.

4.1 was supposed to bring a new raid

The reason that 4.1 doesnt bring a new raid is that more guilds could experience all of the heroic content. Only 117 guilds (According to wowprogress.com) have a full clear on heroic content. Also firelands will come most likely about a month or two after 4.1. Also about those new dungeons: Have you thought about the players that werent around during TBC or Vanilla? The raids were great and I think these new heroics are great and are not ****ing up the lore that much.

WoW is now better than ever.
