dropped mining for alchemy

So yesterday i dropped mining for alchemy on my botter. Just wanted something different and mining was not making me nearly any money anymore. Stacks of elementium on my server we going for 50g and pyrite for maybe 75g. The only benifit was the amount of volatiles you got.

My only concern was when epic gems come out, will the price of ore skyrocket again due to the prospectors wanting it? I do like being able to make my only pots and flasks when i need to for my raiding toon, plus money from transmutes.

Also, since i pretty much farm all the mats needed for flasks and pots, what sells better, raw herbs or flasks/pots? I wouldnt be buying anything so there would be no loss in that aspect.

Just trying to find out if it was a bad idea to drop mining.

1. you gave urself the answer for ore prices (if you dont play wow since last week you should already know that ppl in wow are dumb as **** and will pay any price when new stuff hits the market)

2. do the math urself, what do mats for a flask go for on ur realm and what does the flask go for

I can say on my server that raw herbs (mostly twilight jasmin) along with the volatiles sell much better than flasks. Oddly enough though, healing potions sometimes get into the 60g per range so that's something to look for as well.
