How safe is gathering botting (specifically SGather) ?

I'm thinking about starting to bot. I've used hacks before but gathering bots is going to be a first haha, so I have 2 questions.

1- Is it safe to use your "main" 85 as the botter?
2- Are personal profiles HIGHLY recommended (I heard its not safe to use public profiles, but to what extent is 'not safe'?)

Oh, and is SGather a safe bot to use these days?

There is no 100% safe bot there, there's always a chance that you'll get detected and banned. SGather is the best free bot you can get nowdays, and well, i'm botting on my main character for a year now, never got banned.Just be smart, and don't bot 24/7, or in very populated areas.Personal profiles are safer, because you won't move like 57 000 other botter on your server, but i'm using public ones, maybe cause every profile i make myself fails bad time.

In short words, it's never safe, but profitable as hell, Sgather ftw, pwn gnomes omg.

i use sgather and bot like crazy. sometiems i bot for 1 hour sometimes i bot for 12 hours.

ive done it for 2 months and casually made 140k gold..well thats what i have now i spent a lot on epic flying and enchants

really, you cant get banned for doing this just based on you turning on the bot. someone has to see you and make a ticket, then a gm investigates because they cant just ban you based on the ticket

on the official forums on my server forums, someone made a post about me botting. its true, i did bot but i didnt reply to him and didnt bot for a few weeks. now i can just bot again like normal and no one cares. there are too many people for blizzard to look at so its only based on a player ticket and them watching you at an unknown time

If this person decided to go the ol' fashioned way and write something along the lines of"Jereminion is a f*kin bot, REPORT HIM!!" on the official forums, simply report him for harassment and problem is solved, if he has actually wrote your name in the post without you agreeing to it Blizzard will atleast remove it or they may even forum-ban him, or they may go as far as to ban him ingame...

Speaking from personal experience...
