Ingame gm told me I could make an addon for auto advertising my guild :)

Hey everyone.
I was going to make an addon for automated advertising for my guild.
I wasn't sure weather or not this would be classed as botting or spam.
So I made a ticket and about an hour later (blizz were quick on this one) I got a reply >>

From what I can tell you can I am allowed to make an addon that automatically advertises my guild and auto invite people that whisper me "I'd like to join" or something like that.

I was thinking that this would also work for advertising on trade like "[Massive tits] Now on AH" or something.

Any comments would be great I just thought this might be helpful for some people to know.

Like the GM said you can't automate anything,. As far as I'm aware there's no usable LUA code to automate anything addon wise.

Im sure there is away to do it. Like a timer counting down every 10 mins then /2 "join my guild etc"

I'm sure i've seen somewhere that you can use .net to code addons?
If not then I'll have to do some research

Basically hes saying I cannot automate anything that I couldnt do by hand while im playing.

There is no way to make an addon to automate anything in the game, the LUA doesnt work like that. The only possible way would be to use outside code such as C++/C#/Python/VB.NET and so on.... Which would require you to Read/Write memory from the game which would fall under 3rd Party Software.

I was thinking of using dbm idea like when someone whispers you while your in an encounter it auto send them a relply saying that your in one. And when it times how long you've been in the encounter but have it constantly counting the mins and when it gets to set time /2 guild advert and then when someone replys use the auto reply idea but have it as /ginvite <name>

I thought maybe that would work?
