Am I going to be banned for buying gold? Details inside.. Help greatly appreciated

Dude, you are overreacting like 100x. I bought 15k gold from someone who messaged me ingame "Hey i have the gold you purchase from xxxxx.com" and face to face trade to my 80, and nothing ever happend. Its not a big deal at all.

Interesting post I have to say. Was thinking myself get a fishing bot in cata and sell golds ingame to a goldsellers for real money. So if happens that blizz cought me I wont get immidiately perma ban, just a warning on few days?
Would like to here that from people that are selling golds for real money.I'm bit worried too, since I'm not planning to buy second account to do that, just wanna do on my main or lvl1.

Just one more tiny question and I'll let the thread wither and die, but can GMs see what I actually spent the bought gold on and remove the 310% flying from me or would they only be able to remove the gold I have left? Any point in trying to spend it?

Yes they can, but they wont. When I got 40k and someone who gave it me tried to give it back (he restarted wow -.-) they removed 20k from me since it was all that I had left but no skills or pets/mounts (which I mostly bought of it) was removed.

I know it's a lot of stuff to do but as I said, WoW is a part of my life and losing this account would be such a blow to me as stupid as that sounds.. I have so many friends I have made on it over the 6 years of playing, people that I wouldn't be able to get in contact with again if my account got banned.. I have something like 200 days played on my main character to give you an idea of just how much time I have spent on this one account..

I wish I could take it back >_< Bah I could of just done 1 GDKP run and got the same amount of gold that I bought without the risk of being banned.. I really hope if something gets banned it's only my 2nd account.. It's driving me mad, the constant thought that all that work, all my friends on WoW, my WoW identity, it could all just be gone in a instant because of a stupid mistake I have made..

Is there like a certain amount of time after the transaction that I can be sure I have gotten away with it? Like a month or two later if I have heard nothing on the issue and received no bans it should mean I'm fine... right?

You will be fine, hell i sell gold on my main account every 2 days. been running fine for well since it was created back at bc launch. so the last year was when i started and haven't received missing gold nor warnings etc. and occasionally i buy gold when i am too lazy to bot up a character to farm on a specific server i decide to play on.

(roughly 400k sold over the course of a year)
(and roughly 100k bought from resellers out of laziness in the past 6 months)

The very smallest chance of the universe collapsing at the time of the post, you will be banned. But since that moment has passed and you havent been banned within 24 hrs .. you will be perfectly fine.

Only time i have ever been banned was on a specific botting account during the glider ban wave of 2008.(along with ~60k others at 8 am)

If they do somehow in the depths of the space time continuum find out, yeah ofc they can see. just like how you made 10 characters and deleted them over n over. each toon has an id and they log everything. Specific story i remember is a blue post telling a forum user that persons snide comments in guild chat he made which caused his ban.

I've bought so much gold with only one warning that I don't even worry about it any more. The time I got the warning I had bought from mogs.com and they apparently had gotten part of the gold from someone who ripped off another account and he complained. But they only confiscated maybe 5k of the 20k I bought and didn't touch the rest even though it was obvious I had bought it all. They gave me no suspension at all and even sent me a groveling customer service e-mail telling me what a valued customer I was and I hope my experience had been a good one.

Ever since that I've bought a ton of gold from gamesusd without so much as a warning.

Just don't tell people you know in-game that you've bought gold. That's usually how people get caught, from snitching.
