Just found a botter... and wanna report him. Should I try to blackmail him?

I found this guy botting for like 3 hours now in sholozar basin.

Everytime I go there, i have so search for like 10 mins and I find him again. He doesn't answer my msgs, and sometimes get stuck. I followed him for some mins and its definitely a bot.

If I blackmail him, asking for gold or something... is it "safe" ?
I mean, he can report me for that right?

I was thinking: What if I just blackmail him using a fresh account, telling him to send gold to X (main account) char.

I know, he will just report my main char. But hey, there's no proof that these two chars belong to the same person!

Just add him to your friendlist and when he stops botting, /w him and ask him if he wants to sell his stuff to you cheaper. This has 3 pluses:

1. He has a constant buyer.
2.You get stuff cheap and sell them for more.
3.He doesn't get reported for botting.

However, if he doesn't accept the deal, just leave him and don't report him... Just tell him that you'll if he doesn't want to sell his stuff to you.

don't report bots, only try to talk with them if there walking in a wall every 10 seconds..

Btw. I wouldn't force him to pay gold to you. He'll report you and stop botting for around 2 Weeks.
Then you can't prove that he's a botter and you maybe even get a warning or a 3 day ban.

A friend of mine quite awhile back tried to blackmail the gold handler of the old jc/de auctions goldsellers, needless to say it didnt work and he was spam whispered by various people everytime he logged onto his rogue in some language he didnt understand :P

In the end what would you gain, maybe a ban yourself if you blackmail, maybe the botter banned if you report, eitherway you cant get rid of all bots, he leaves and another will replace him.

You probably only notice him as he's on a crap profile, try /w him and tell him his profile sucks and you've seen him stuck many many times as a friendly warning, it may scare him into moving to another in maybe stormpeaks or icecrown.

No... Nobody will do that. Even if you /w him that you know that he's botting and you tell him that you want gold, he'll not give you..T They'll most likely agree to sell their items cheeper because they've loads of them and want to sell it fast.

This site has a big community of botting, I'm surprised people aren't raging over him wanting to flame/blackmail a fellow botter.

Like everyone else said just try to get the items from him cheaper and you both profit.
