WoW acc ban => Battle.net ban?

Hey there, I have a question
The answer might be obvious, but I just want to be sure.

Me and a friend uses the same battle.net account to access our two WoW-accounts. I think of starting a little botting on my own account, but I am afraid that if my WoW account gets banned, then the battle.net account will be banned.

Are these two things independant of each other?

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere on the bnet site that they ban by WoW account and not bnet account so he should be ok, but he'll probably be flagged to be monitored if you get caught. I'll try to find a link later.


Edit: I don't know if this is still the standing idea/rule but this was what I could find on battle.net accounts.

Does it? I have two account on the same b.net acct banned, and 4 others on the same b.net accts that are perfectly playable.

yea id like to know the answer to this also. i know you can add a banned account to a b.net, but it still stays banned

I have 4 Accts attached to same b.net acct. 1 is banned (3rd party Program. Bot), the other 3 are not.

Moral: Wow Accounts get banned, not the B.net accounts. But it may flag the entire B.net account depending on nature of ban.

It's the WoW account that gets banned, not the Battle.net account. I'd post a screenshot for proof, but i no longer own the rights to the Battle.net account that had a banned WoW account.

The reason is simple.. Battle.net accounts are not only for WoW. They contain Starcraft, Warcraft, and even Diablo.

They ban by WoW account, not by b.net account, as stated above.

Blizzard only bans the particular WoW license (accounts) when they do, not the Battle.net meta-account - although if you're not willing to lose it, don't abuse it.
