Getting Beta things on PTR due to files?

Something someone told me peaked my interest just a little bit, and I wanted to know if others had heard about it already:

Those who have the Cataclysm Beta files could, after installing the PTR, get into the Beta areas and use things from Beta on the PTR servers, because of the files being copy pasted.

Anyone know if this is true or not?

Eh no? The PTR has everything the beta has got, but it is not activated server side. It wouldn't be possible.

It is possible lol ppl are already doing it lol i love how you instantly so no its not possible go read the forums ppl are doing it all over now.. they are even unlocking the char screen background and class combos

What really got me was right before the last time I got booted off for a server restart, someone got the realm first 3 times.
1. First 85
2. First 85 priest
3. First 85 night elf

A minute after that servers were set to be rebooted. Anyone want to explain that one? lol

Because quite frankly, i do not see how someone can enter a cataclysm area on the PTR server, if the server does not have the data unlocked for that area.

EDIT, seems Famous you are indeed, right. Some stuff has been 'unlocked' by people accidentally, but it is so unstable anyway that everyone has gotten stuck anyway. And none of the new NPCs or anything follows.

Because quite frankly, i do not see how someone can enter a cataclysm area on the PTR server, if the server does not have the data unlocked for that area.

EDIT, seems Famous you are indeed, right. Some stuff has been 'unlocked' by people accidentally, but it is so unstable anyway that everyone has gotten stuck anyway. And none of the new NPCs or anything follows.

Yes but i heard those ppl are being removed who try to on purpose unlock it soo I wouldn't do it lol also if it happens to your rpoet it right now on the forums and an in-game ticket.. This is also how some ppl are flying already too =/

If thats the case, Im replacing my files :{ I havent been removed(yet) but if it does happen I do get removed from ptr ill let you know, oh well fun while it lasted

thanks that will help prevent other form doing it if some1 does let us kno if they got removed!
