Random CE Pet in mail?

This happened almost a year ago, and I've always wondered how it happened.
I got a random in-game mail from blizzard with a CE Pet quest item, i chose mini diablo and received a BoA Mini Diablo pet. I don't own any CE's and I've never received another pet voucher on any of my other characters. Even if I remake a new char , no mail.

Has anyone ever heard of this ?
(No real way to prove with screenshots that the account I'm logged into is the same account with no CE's , so I won't bother.)

Before the pet menu you could submit a ticket to a Game Master if you accidentally deleted your pet, and they would send you another one.

The GM probably made a typo and you were sent it by mistake.

Hmm....what realm were you on? Might have been one of the realms that got really f-ed up, maybe it was actually on purpose.
