Getting the Cataclysm Beta?

So, a week or so ago, I saw on the WoW launcher that you could opt in for cataclysm beta. So I went to do that. It let me choose which games to opt in for, so I just chose them all. Yesterday, I got an email, saying I got accepted to Starcraft beta. I had told a friend, and he wanted it really badly, so I told him how to get it. The next day, he told me he got Diablo 3 and Cataclysm beta, but not Starcraft 2, which is the one he really wanted. So, how come he was able to get the Cataclysm beta so fast, and I have yet to get it? I have a pretty good computer. I have a good computer, I built it myself. These are the specs from battle.net:

Your "pretty good self built computer" will NOT give you any advantage over anyone else.

Blizzard will choose from a wide range of hardware specs.

Only the F&F Invites were sent. And you are not guaranted to get one, unless you got beta acces trough an event (i.e. Blizzcon).

So that only people actually interested in the beta recieve invites. No one likes wasted invites (neither the ones waiting for invites, nor blizzard :>)

Beta invites are not yet out. Blizzard will announce that brightly, believe me. F&F is still running though.

Blizzard is going to want a range of people, with good machines and bad machines to know what there limits are. They also will probably be looking at how long you have been a member of World of Warcraft and how much time you play, the reason is because they don't want to invite someone into beta who is not going to play the game.

I downloaded the alpha client and it switched to the beta. I log in just fine without the game stopping me however I am still downloading a million patches. I'll let you know what happens when I'm up to date.

Game fully installed and updated. Vanilla login screen. LOGIN SUCCESSFUL and I'm able to select type of realm and the "Development" tab. No realms up, however. Does anyone know when the realms will be up and if I don't get an invite but have the client will I still be able to play?

You'll have to be playing a sandbox, the beta isn't out yet.

You downloaded the wrong client. The Alpha client logs directly to public-beta.logon.battle.net

If your client did that, you would be told your information is invalid or that the account does not exist. Because only valid Friends and Family accounts are allowed in.

Blizzard will want to stress-test the game, so even if you have a shitty computer, you still have a chance of being picked!

You are wrong there actually, you can login with your Bnet account (with WoW attached ofc), but it will kick you saying you are in the wrong region.

Actually LostprophetVII is right. I just checked with my second account. It does let you log in, but shows no realms.

Wasn't aware of that, since i normally just log in with my account that works.

D3 isnt completed yet, so kind of hard to be in the beta already.
