I know there are sites out there that sell WotLK accounts for gold.

You might be able to find someone on these forums, or any other private seller, but I'm almost positive that no websites sell accounts for in-game currency. Also, I think any private seller would also want a bit more than 40k gold for one.

Seeing as 40k goes about $261 usd on the gold buying site i use, ide say 40k isnt a bad price for a lvl 80 as they sell about $200 for an ungeared POS.
