In-Game Casinos: Blizzard changes rules.

I recieved this E-mail from Blizzard after only adverting my Casino in /yell after reading this article saying that it is prohibited to advert in Chat Channels

But.. after running my casino for a mere day I recieved this E-mail:

This email is to inform you of our policy regarding player-run casinos. We realize that many players enjoy running or patronizing casinos, and we did not come to this decision lightly. However, due to the many issues caused by casinos, we have decided to prohibit this form of gameplay until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and hope this doesn"t detract from your enjoyment of the game.

This email is simply a notification of our new policy regarding casinos. Your account will not be negatively affected at this time. However, future violations of this new policy may result in disciplinary action. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Old news is very old. Have you been under a rock this whole time? Its already been around a year since it was ban-able i think. Atleast 6 months though

I think someone should post this in the Guide forum, since theirs this huge guide on how to make money with a casino. It looks like the OP hasn't bothered to warn people

Exactly, I'm on a US based realm, and it is supposedly completely legal in private. According to the article it is only illegal to do it in public CHAT CHANNELS. Yell isn't a channel, it affects you're immediate vicinity of about 1000 yards. I currently have a GM ticket submitted.

In the meantime I'm still running on the Down-low.

Blizzard is very finicky on "easy ways to make gold" deals. Sure you can pass it off as fair but, US or EU you cannot do so.

It took this long for a GM to respond to my ticket, and he said that is still legal to *run* a casino, but it is prohibited to advertise in any form, unless it is in private.

One 'Casino' on my realm has a bot or something that auto whispers those within a few yards, its ****ing annoying.
